Al-Shaibani Discusses Regional Cooperation with Saudi, Turkish Counterparts

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Assad Hassan Al-Shaibani, met on Wednesday with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan, and the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan. The meetings took place on the sidelines of his participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The discussions held between Al-Shaibani and his Saudi and Turkish counterparts centered on the bilateral relations between Syria and both Riyadh and Ankara. The parties examined ways to strengthen joint cooperation across various fields of mutual interest, aiming to serve the common interests of their respective countries.

Furthermore, the talks provided an opportunity to review the latest developments on both regional and international stages. Al-Shaibani and the ministers exchanged views on priority issues currently facing the region. This engagement occurred within the framework of Syria’s active participation in the UN General Assembly proceedings, which serves as a significant platform for discussing diplomatic matters and advancing the horizons of Syrian relations with regional states.

These high-level meetings come at a time when the region is experiencing widespread diplomatic activity.
