Moderate Summer Weather Expected Across Syria Through Wednesday
Syria is currently under the influence of a moderate air mass that is expected to keep temperatures around their annual averages or slightly lower through Wednesday. The National Center for Meteorology stated that while the weather remains generally fair to partly cloudy during the day, relatively hot conditions will persist in the eastern regions of the country.
Meteorological reports indicate that there is a continued possibility of scattered rain showers across some coastal, northern, and southern parts of the country. Meanwhile, the eastern regions, the Al-Jazira area, and the Badia are expected to experience dusty and hazy conditions.
Nighttime temperatures are forecast to remain generally moderate, with pleasant conditions expected in the mountainous regions. High humidity levels will persist across the western and southern parts of the country. Authorities have also issued a warning regarding the potential for light fog formation in parts of the central and southern regions, including the Qalamoun area, during the late-night hours and early morning.
Wind patterns are expected to be westerly to southwesterly, ranging from light to moderate. However, the center warned of active gusts exceeding 60 kilometers per hour during the afternoon, particularly in the central, southern, and northern regions as well as the Badia. These winds are expected to stir up dust and sand in various inland areas. Coastal sea conditions are expected to remain relatively calm with light wave heights.
Detailed temperature readings for Syrian provinces today are as follows: Damascus 20/35°C; Rif Dimashq (Qalamoun) 15/29°C; Quneitra 17/32°C; Daraa 19/35°C; As-Suwayda 17/33°C; Homs 21/34°C; Hama 22/36°C; Latakia 22/32°C; Tartus 26/33°C; Aleppo 22/36°C; Idlib 21/33°C; Deir ez-Zor 26/41°C; Raqqa 24/38°C; and Al-Hasakah 25/38°C. Residents are advised to stay informed about potential shifts in weather patterns as the current air mass continues to affect the region through the middle of the week.
