Temperatures Drop Across Syria With Forecasts of Rain

Temperatures continue to decline across all regions of Syria, falling between one and three degrees Celsius below the annual average for this time of year. The National Center for Meteorology reported that weather conditions during the day will generally be partly cloudy, with opportunities for scattered rainfall in coastal, northern, and Jazira regions, as well as parts of the central region.
Forecasts indicate that the rain may become heavy at times, accompanied by thunder, particularly in the coastal areas, the Jazira region, and parts of the northwestern territory. During the night, a relatively cold atmosphere will prevail in most areas, with temperatures dropping further in mountainous regions. The meteorological department has also issued warnings regarding the potential for fog formation in the central, northern, and Jazira regions during late-night and early-morning hours.
Regarding wind activity, the report states that winds will be westerly to southwesterly, ranging from light to moderate. Gusts are expected to be active at times, occasionally exceeding 45 km/h in the southern, central, and Jazira regions, as well as parts of the coast. Sea conditions are forecasted to range from slight to moderate wave heights.
Recorded maximum and minimum temperatures across Syrian provinces are as follows: Damascus 23/12, Rif Dimashq-Qalamoun 18/7, Quneitra 22/12, Daraa 22/11, As-Suwayda 22/11, Homs 21/14, Hama 22/15, Latakia 22/18, Tartus 23/18, Aleppo 20/13, Idlib 20/12, Deir ez-Zor 22/15, Raqqa 21/14, and Al-Hasakah 20/15.
