Temperatures Drop Across Syria With Chances of Thunderstorms

Most regions across Syria experienced a drop in temperatures on Sunday, although levels remain one to three degrees Celsius above their typical annual averages. This shift in weather patterns is attributed to the influence of a low-pressure system moving from southern regions, which has triggered a state of atmospheric instability.
The National Meteorological Center reported that weather conditions during daylight hours will be partly cloudy across the country, with skies expected to turn cloudier by the afternoon and evening. There is a high probability of scattered rain showers across various areas. These showers may intensify at times and be accompanied by thunderstorms. Meanwhile, some inland regions are expected to experience hazy and dusty conditions.
Regarding the overnight forecast, the weather is expected to be generally cool. Temperatures are projected to fall further, reaching relatively cold levels over mountainous regions.
Weather forecasts also indicate that winds will shift from the south to the south-east. Wind speeds are expected to range from light to moderate, with occasional active gusts potentially exceeding 50 km/h. These winds are contributing to rising dust and the potential for localized sandstorms in inland areas. Sea conditions are expected to show a slight increase in wave height.
Temperature readings across Syrian provinces showed notable variations. In Damascus, the temperature reached a high of 28 degrees and a low of 15 degrees, while in Rif Dimashq and the Qalamoun region, temperatures ranged between 12 and 25 degrees. In the coastal provinces of Latakia and Tartus, highs reached 28 degrees with lows of 19 degrees.
In the eastern and northern provinces, Deir ez-Zor and Al-Hasakah both recorded highs of 31 degrees, followed by Raqqa at 30 degrees and Aleppo at 28 degrees. Temperatures in other provinces, including Daraa, Quneitra, As-Suwayda, Homs, Hama, and Idlib, fluctuated within the ranges officially announced by the meteorological authorities.
