Quneitra’s Al-Tahrir Club Celebrates Promotion to First Division

The Quneitra Youth and Sports Directorate, in collaboration with the regional directorate, recently hosted a ceremony to honor the players and staff of Al-Tahrir Sports Club. The event served as a tribute to the team’s recent success in securing a promotion to the first division of the national volleyball league.

This achievement follows the club’s exceptional performance during the final tournament held in Damascus. After navigating through various qualifying stages, the team successfully earned its place in the top tier of the sport. Yasser Al-Baradai, Director of the Quneitra Youth and Sports Directorate, highlighted that this milestone is the result of collective effort, hard work, and the commitment displayed by the players, technical staff, and administrative team throughout the season.

Al-Baradai noted that Al-Tahrir Club’s promotion signals a return for Quneitra’s athletic community to its rightful position within the landscape of national competitions. Reflecting on the club’s journey through the tournament, he explained that the team enjoyed a strong start, winning four matches during the initial stage hosted in Tartus. The momentum continued in Damascus, where the team topped its group, securing victories over clubs including Yabroud, Al-Sad, Hajin, and Al-Mayadeen.

Looking ahead, the Youth and Sports Directorate emphasized its commitment to providing full support—technical, financial, and moral—to the club. This backing is intended to ensure that any obstacles are addressed and that the team is well-prepared to maintain its competitive edge in the upcoming season.

Al-Tahrir Club is recognized as one of the most active sports institutions in Quneitra. Beyond its recent success in volleyball, the club acts as a vital feeder for national teams across various individual and collective sports, reinforcing its reputation as a key player in the local athletic sector.
