Israeli Artillery Targets Area Near Beit Jinn in Rural Damascus

The western countryside of Damascus was subjected to fresh artillery shelling by Israeli forces on Saturday, marking a continuation of incidents targeting Syrian border areas. Field sources reported that an artillery shell landed in agricultural land in the Ain al-Shaara area, located near the town of Beit Jinn. There have been no reports of casualties resulting from the strike.

This incident follows a similar military action recorded just one day prior, which targeted the surroundings of the Beit Jinn farm and the vicinity of Tel Bat al-Warda, also situated near the town. These operations are part of an ongoing series of activities by Israeli forces, which have included incursions into southern Syria, land leveling, and raids and arrest operations targeting civilians in areas situated near the disengagement line.

In response to these developments, the Syrian state has reiterated its rejection of these violations, characterizing the practices as a breach of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement. Official Syrian authorities maintain that all actions taken by Israeli forces on Syrian territory are null, void, and carry no legal weight under the provisions of international law.

Syria has renewed its call for the international community to take urgent action and fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities. The government is pressing for international pressure to be applied to Israel to compel an end to its repeated attacks and to secure a full withdrawal from southern Syria, reaffirming the state’s right to uphold its sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.
