Energy Minister Unveils 7-Step Plan for Fuel and Water Services
During a hearing held by the Syrian Parliament, the Minister of Energy outlined a comprehensive set of executive measures aimed at addressing current challenges within the energy, water, and sanitation sectors. These initiatives are part of ongoing government efforts to improve the efficiency of essential public services and mitigate the difficulties currently affecting these vital sectors.
The strategic vision presented by the Minister comprises seven primary procedural pillars. These steps are designed to ensure the stable supply of petroleum products and modernize their distribution systems, while simultaneously enhancing the sustainability of water and sanitation services and developing the necessary infrastructure. The Minister emphasized that these measures were developed based on a meticulous assessment of current requirements and available capacities, with a clear focus on development priorities and public service delivery.
During the parliamentary session, members of the People’s Assembly engaged in discussions regarding the challenges citizens face in accessing petroleum products and water services. In response, the Minister reiterated the ministry’s commitment to intensifying efforts to improve the energy landscape, increase network efficiency, and upgrade sanitation facilities. He confirmed that the ministry is coordinating closely with relevant authorities to overcome obstacles imposed by prevailing circumstances, describing the seven-point plan as a roadmap for addressing the most urgent files.
Concluding the session, the Minister of Energy stressed the importance of rigorous monitoring and field supervision to ensure the optimal implementation of these measures. He noted that active work is underway to resolve the technical and administrative hurdles that impede the delivery of high-quality services to citizens across various Syrian governorates. This approach is part of a broader, integrated plan aimed at strengthening the stability of the national infrastructure within the energy and water sectors.
