Daraa Launches Registration for Industrialists and Investors

The Industry Directorate in Daraa province has announced the launch of an official registration process for industrialists and investors looking to expand existing facilities or establish new industrial projects. This initiative is part of a broader effort to develop a comprehensive industrial investment map for the region and increase the private sector’s role in local economic growth.
Khaled Al-Atma, the Director of Industry in Daraa, stated that the directorate has begun accepting registration requests through a dedicated technical survey. This survey is designed to collect precise and extensive data on local industrialists and investors, providing the directorate with a detailed understanding of current investment trends. Al-Atma emphasized that this data will serve as a cornerstone for future planning, directly assisting in identifying necessary industries for the province and determining optimal locations for new projects. The assessment will also account for local community needs and the availability of the logistical and technical requirements essential for project success and long-term sustainability.
According to the directorate, the gathered information will be pivotal in identifying industrial sectors ripe for development in the near and medium term. Furthermore, this initiative will enable officials to evaluate the feasibility of establishing new industrial zones in viable areas. It is also intended to streamline administrative procedures and strengthen coordination between relevant government agencies and investors, effectively addressing obstacles that may hinder the investment process.
This call to action comes as Daraa works to revitalize its industrial activity, particularly following the reopening of the province’s industrial zone earlier this year after years of inactivity. The zone currently hosts a variety of small and medium-sized enterprises that have begun generating job opportunities and contributing to local production efforts.
The directorate has invited all those interested in investing within the industrial sector to complete the registration form provided via the KoboToolbox electronic platform. This step is a core component of the strategic planning efforts for the industry sector in Daraa. By mapping out specific needs and investment trends, the directorate aims to gather realistic data that will shape the future of industry in the province, ensuring that new projects align with local market requirements and existing production capacities.
