Daraa Launches Registration for Industrialists and Investors

The Industry Directorate in Daraa province has announced the launch of an official registration process for industrialists and investors looking to expand existing facilities or establish new industrial projects within the region. This initiative is part of a broader effort to develop a comprehensive industrial investment map for the province and to increase the private sector’s role in driving economic growth.

Khaled Al-Atmeh, the Director of Industry in Daraa, stated that the directorate has begun accepting registration requests through a specialized technical survey. This survey aims to collect accurate, detailed data regarding local industrialists and investors, as well as to gain a clear understanding of their investment priorities. Al-Atmeh emphasized that this data will serve as a cornerstone for future planning, helping to determine which industries the province requires most. Furthermore, it will assist in identifying optimal locations for new projects, ensuring that logistical requirements, technical standards, and local community needs are met to guarantee project success and sustainability.

The gathered information will play a pivotal role in identifying industrial sectors ripe for development in the short and medium term. Additionally, this initiative will allow the directorate to evaluate the feasibility of establishing new industrial zones in promising areas. It is also intended to streamline administrative procedures and enhance coordination between relevant government entities and the private sector to resolve potential obstacles to investment.

This call for registration comes as Daraa works to revitalize its industrial activity, particularly following the reopening of the provincial industrial zone earlier this year after years of inactivity. The zone currently hosts several small and medium-sized enterprises that are beginning to create jobs and contribute to local production.

The directorate has invited all interested parties to participate by completing the digital form available via the KoboToolbox platform. This registration process is a key component of the strategic planning for Daraa’s industrial sector, as the directorate aims to use realistic, data-driven insights to shape the future of industry in the province and ensure that new projects align with local market requirements and available production capacities.
