Al-Hasakah Health Directorate Calls for Reinstatement of Workers
The Health Directorate in the northeastern province of Al-Hasakah has issued an urgent call for public sector employees who were previously dismissed for their involvement in revolutionary activities to finalize the administrative procedures required for their return to work. Officials have set a strict deadline of January 31 for these individuals to submit the necessary documentation and complete their files.
According to the Director of Health for Al-Hasakah, Khaled Al-Khaled, the process is part of a broader government initiative to streamline the reinstatement of personnel in various public institutions. The directorate is currently managing a total of approximately 685 cases involving medical professionals, technical staff, general laborers, and security personnel who were removed from their positions. Al-Khaled confirmed that the majority of those affected have already engaged with the directorate, with approximately 500 individuals having successfully submitted their required paperwork to date.
This administrative push follows ongoing efforts initiated by the Ministry of Administrative Development, which began publishing lists of civil servants dismissed from public sector roles in Al-Hasakah in April of last year. These workers, who were terminated due to their participation in the Syrian uprising, are being required to complete documentation updates and undergo mandatory return-to-work interviews to resume their duties.
The regional government in Al-Hasakah has also expanded its efforts to include other sectors. In June, provincial authorities extended an invitation to workers—specifically those with permanent status or annual contracts who were dismissed for security-related reasons between 2011 and December 2024—to report to the governorate headquarters. These individuals are required to participate in official interviews as part of the formal process to reintegrate them into public institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment.
The health sector in Al-Hasakah has faced significant challenges over the past decade, including staff shortages and infrastructure issues. The reintegration of these employees represents an attempt to stabilize the workforce and address gaps within the local healthcare system. As the January 31 deadline approaches, provincial authorities are urging all remaining affected staff to expedite their submissions to ensure their administrative records are updated in time for the conclusion of this phase of the, process.
