Syrian Health Ministry Opens Registration for ‘Basar 5’ Eye Campaign

The Syrian Ministry of Health has announced the commencement of registration for patients seeking to benefit from the “Basar 5” surgical campaign, which is dedicated to cataract removal in Damascus. This initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance specialized medical services across Syrian provinces.

The campaign is being conducted in collaboration with the Basar International Foundation and is supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre. The medical activities are scheduled to take place from November 14 to 20. This initiative aims to provide quality diagnostic and treatment services for eye patients, contributing directly to reducing waiting lists at public hospitals and ensuring that healthcare access reaches a wider segment of the population.

To facilitate the registration process, the Ministry of Health has invited those interested in receiving these free medical services to scan a provided QR code or visit a designated electronic link shared through the ministry’s official Telegram channel.

This campaign is part of a broader series of medical initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with various international and regional humanitarian organizations. Recent periods have seen similar campaigns launched in several provinces. In July, a free campaign for cataract treatment was carried out at the National Hospital in Raqqa. Furthermore, the Quneitra Health Directorate recently announced the launch of a similar campaign at the Golan National Hospital, aimed at enabling patients to regain their vision through specialized surgical procedures.

These efforts underscore the commitment of the Syrian Ministry of Health to improving the quality of medical services and expanding the scope of health coverage in areas requiring specialized surgical interventions. The ministry continues to rely on strategic partnerships aimed at providing direct medical support to citizens and alleviating their financial burdens in light of current circumstances.
