Syria Announces Tender for Air Conditioning Units for Media Ministry
The Syrian General Authority for Supply and Procurement has announced a new internal tender, designated (101-C-2026) and dated September 22, 2026, for the procurement of air conditioning units. These units are intended for the administrative offices of the Ministry of Information’s General Organization for Radio and Television. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to modernize and upgrade the technical infrastructure of administrative offices within government institutions.
According to the tender requirements, interested bidders must submit their proposals in three separate envelopes enclosed within a single sealed package. The first envelope must contain the necessary supporting documentation and a receipt for the initial bid bond. The second envelope must contain the technical proposal, and the third must contain the financial offer. Bidders are required to include an initial bid bond receipt for 600,000 Syrian pounds; any bid submitted without this bond will be automatically excluded from consideration.
Regarding the final performance bond, the Authority has set this at 10% of the total contract value. This amount must be paid to the commissioning body within 10 days of the contract award. The tender terms also include a penalty clause for delays, which is set at 0.001 of the total value of the materials for each day of delay, provided that the total penalty does not exceed 20% of the overall contract value.
The project timeline stipulates a completion period of 45 calendar days for the supply and implementation, beginning from the date of the formal commencement order. Furthermore, bidders are required to maintain the validity of their offers for 180 calendar days, starting from the day following the deadline for bid submissions. The final deadline for the submission of proposals is set for the end of the official working day on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
Parties interested in participating can obtain the tender specifications from the offices of the General Authority for Supply and Procurement in Damascus. The office is located in the former General Organization for Free Zones building, opposite the General Authority for Customs and Borders. The specifications document is available for a fee of 50 US dollars, with electronic payment options provided through the ‘Sham Cash’ application. The Authority has stated that any offers that do not strictly adhere to the established conditions will not be reviewed by the evaluation committees.
