Woman Killed, Husband Injured in Hand Grenade Explosion in Daraa
A tragic security incident occurred in the town of Atman, located in the Daraa governorate, resulting in the death of a woman and critical injuries to her husband. The Criminal Security Branch in Daraa stated that the circumstances of the event were uncovered following a thorough investigation at the crime scene.
According to information released by internal security forces, the incident was triggered when the husband, identified as R. M., detonated a hand grenade in close proximity to his wife’s head, causing her immediate death. Preliminary investigations indicate that the husband was under the influence of narcotics at the time of the act. The blast also resulted in severe injuries to the husband himself.
Following the incident, security services conducted a meticulous search of the premises. The operation led to the discovery of quantities of narcotics, as well as various weapons and ammunition found at the site. These findings suggest additional circumstances surrounding the incident and classify the event within the scope of criminal cases linked to the prevalence of illicit substances.
Regarding the legal proceedings, internal security forces reported that the husband has been detained at the hospital where he is receiving treatment.
