Syrian and Saudi Officials Discuss Launching Flynas Syria

In an effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance the air transport sector, the head of the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, Omar Al-Hosari, held official talks in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The meetings were held with Bandar Al-Mohanna, CEO of Flynas, to discuss the executive steps required for the launch of the new airline, Flynas Syria.

This visit is part of a broader effort by both parties to expand cooperation in air transport. During a tour of the Saudi company’s headquarters, the Syrian delegation examined the operational systems and workflows currently in place. This exchange is intended to facilitate the transfer of expertise and the professional development of Syrian technical personnel within this vital sector.

The discussions follow a series of intensive meetings held by the Syrian delegation. On Sunday, Al-Hosari met with the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, to explore ways to increase air traffic between the two nations. These talks focused on strengthening coordination in civil aviation to serve mutual interests.

In February, the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport signed an official agreement to establish Flynas Syria, a new national economic airline. The project is part of a package of strategic contracts designed to bolster economic relations and expand the scope of exchange and services between Syria and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the sectors of infrastructure and transportation.

These ongoing discussions reflect a mutual commitment from both sides to transition from signed agreements to practical implementation. The transport sector serves as a central pillar for commercial, tourism, and social movement between the two countries, and both parties aim to leverage these initiatives to foster greater economic exchange and open new avenues for cooperation in the near future.
