Energy Ministry Calls 341 Dismissed Workers to Resume Employment
As part of its ongoing efforts to resolve the employment status of personnel dismissed due to their involvement in the Syrian conflict, the Ministry of Energy has issued a call for 341 individuals to report to their designated sites. This step represents the next phase in the ministry’s administrative review process, which is designed to restore employment rights to eligible candidates in accordance with established legal and institutional standards.
According to an official announcement published by the ministry via its Telegram channel, the newly summoned workers are distributed across various entities within the energy and water resources sector. The list includes 96 employees from the Syrian Electricity Company (formerly the Ministry of Electricity) and 210 workers from the General Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation (formerly the Ministry of Water Resources). Additionally, the list accounts for 27 staff members from the General Authority for Water Resources, 7 from the General Establishment for the Euphrates Dam, and one individual from the General Establishment for Geology and Mineral Resources.
The ministry has scheduled these procedural check-ins to commence on Sunday, the 20th of the current month. Appointments are set for the morning session, running from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Workers are required to adhere strictly to the locations specified in the lists provided via the ministry’s dedicated online link to ensure the efficiency and smooth progression of the reinstatement procedures.
These actions are part of the ministry’s broader initiative to regularize the status of dismissed personnel and successfully reintegrate them into the workforce. The ministry noted that it continues to review and process all remaining applications to ensure that all eligible individuals are able to return to their positions. As of August 10, the ministry had successfully completed the contracting and reinstatement procedures for 5,971 former employees, highlighting the institutional momentum behind this initiative.
Relevant authorities emphasized that these organizational measures are intended to restore rights to their rightful owners while strengthening the stability of vital sectors under the ministry’s jurisdiction. By recovering this professional expertise, the ministry aims to enhance operational efficiency. Officials confirmed that work is proceeding at a steady pace to finalize all outstanding files in the coming period.
