Authorities Seize Vehicles Carrying Illegal Thinner in Al-Hasakah

As part of ongoing efforts to regulate markets and curb the illicit manipulation of petroleum products and fuel derivatives, a patrol from the Vital Facilities Security in Al-Hasakah province successfully intercepted several vehicles over the past two days. The vehicles were found to be carrying large quantities of “thinner,” a substance often used in the irregular blending of fuels.
The Internal Security Command in Al-Hasakah issued an official statement on Wednesday confirming the seizure. According to the report, the vehicles were transporting the material with the intention of distributing it illegally within the province, in direct violation of established laws and regulations.
The authorities have fully impounded the vehicles and the seized cargo, transferring them to the Energy Services Administration. This transfer follows standard operating procedures to ensure the material is handled appropriately and that necessary legal measures are taken. The Internal Security Command emphasized that legal proceedings are currently underway against those involved in the operation. They remain committed to referring all suspects to the competent judiciary to face fair sentencing in accordance with existing laws.
This regulatory action is part of a broader, sustained campaign by relevant authorities in Al-Hasakah to combat the illegal trade of petroleum derivatives. These efforts aim to control the circulation of substances that are frequently used to adulterate fuel. By strictly monitoring these materials, the authorities seek to ensure public safety and protect both public and private property from the risks associated with the unauthorized handling or distribution of such chemicals outside approved official channels.
Security officials in the province have reiterated their commitment to continuing these oversight campaigns. The objective is to ensure that all parties strictly adhere to the laws governing the energy sector and to prevent any attempts to undermine the local economy or manipulate the safety and availability of fuel supplies in the markets.
