Syria Weather Forecast: Temperatures to Remain Near November Norms

The National Center for Meteorology and Seismology in Syria has released its weather outlook for the month of November, indicating that temperatures are expected to remain near or slightly below their general seasonal averages. According to the center, the atmosphere will be characterized by mild conditions that lean toward coolness, particularly during the middle and end of the month. The report noted that there is no indication of significant cold snaps or sudden, sharp drops in temperature.

Regarding precipitation, the report highlighted that the coastal, northwestern, and Al-Hasakah regions are the most susceptible to rainfall. These areas are expected to experience above-average precipitation levels. In contrast, the central, southern, and eastern regions are projected to receive rainfall near their typical annual averages. Weather disturbances are likely to occur during the first and second weeks of the month, with no current indicators suggesting any notable dry spells across most regions.

The center provided a week-by-week breakdown of the anticipated weather patterns:

During the first week (November 2–8), temperatures will remain consistent with seasonal norms across the country. A weather disturbance is expected to impact the coastal and northwestern regions, as well as parts of Al-Hasakah, while the effect in other areas will be limited.

In the second week (November 9–15), temperatures are forecast to drop by approximately 1 to 3 degrees Celsius below the norm in all provinces. Meanwhile, the prospect of above-average rainfall will continue for the coastal, northwestern, and Al-Hasakah regions.

For the third week (November 16–22), the forecast suggests that temperatures will remain around their seasonal averages, though there may be a slight decline in the Al-Hasakah region and parts of the central and northwestern territories. Rainfall is expected to remain within general average ranges during this period.

In the fourth week (November 23–30), temperatures will stay around the seasonal norm, with the exception of the Al-Hasakah region. There is a possibility of ongoing weather instability, with precipitation levels remaining above average along the coast and in the northwest of the country.

The National Center for Meteorology and Seismology emphasized that these projections are probabilistic in nature, based on the outputs of global climate models and the analysis of numerical data. The center noted that these outlooks are subject to continuous updates through daily and weekly bulletins in accordance with evolving meteorological conditions.
