Al-Hasakah Begins First-Stage Testing for National Center for Excellence

The Education Directorate in Al-Hasakah governorate announced that it held the first round of admission tests for the National Center for Excellence on Sunday. The examinations took place at the governorate’s examinations department, as part of ongoing educational efforts to identify and recruit talented students in the region.

In a special statement, Khaled Al-Shahr, head of the Supervision and Guidance Department at the Al-Hasakah Education Directorate, confirmed that the directorate had completed all necessary organizational and logistical arrangements to ensure a suitable testing environment for all candidates. Al-Shahr noted that 17 students had initially registered for the center, with 13 attending the evaluation tests on Sunday.

These assessments represent the first step in a series of admission tests conducted by the Commission for Excellence and Creativity, which aims to select students who demonstrate the highest level of academic and personal potential. According to Al-Shahr, the primary focus of this first stage is to measure scientific and logical thinking skills across three core subjects: mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Students who successfully pass this round will qualify for the second stage of testing, which is scheduled to take place at the National Center for Excellence facility in Homs.

The Commission for Excellence and Creativity previously opened registration for students who successfully completed their basic education certificates for the 2025/2026 academic year. The registration period was held between August 18 and August 27, with applicants filling out official forms at education directorates across various Syrian provinces. The admission process consists of three consecutive stages designed to screen and qualify creative students for enrollment in the specialized educational center.
