Qutaiba Qadish Leads Crisis Management Discussion at UN General Assembly
As part of the Syrian delegation’s participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Qutaiba Qadish, Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, served as a keynote speaker at a roundtable titled “Aligning Strategies to Face Present and Future Crises: Toward a New Model for Crisis Management.”
During the session, Qadish presented the Syrian perspective on modern mechanisms for crisis management and explored pathways to align international strategies in addressing current and future global challenges. This participation is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen Syria’s diplomatic presence in major international forums, highlighting the country’s approaches to humanitarian and developmental issues under the framework of global crisis response.
In a related context, the 81st session of the General Assembly saw a period of intense diplomatic activity for Qadish, who conducted a series of significant bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the official events. On Tuesday, Qadish met with Michael Karnitschnig, the Acting Director-General for the Middle East and North Africa at the European Commission.
Qadish’s diplomatic engagements also included a meeting with Navid Hanif, the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Social Development at the United Nations. During these discussions, Qadish explored ways to bolster international cooperation and addressed current developments of mutual interest. He underscored the importance of coordination with international bodies and key stakeholders, particularly in light of current circumstances that necessitate realistic and effective approaches to manage political and economic repercussions at both regional and international levels.
These activities by the Syrian delegation in New York reflect the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in clarifying official Syrian positions to the international community.
