Over 100 Explosive Remnants of War Cleared in Rif Dimashq

Units from the Engineering Administration have successfully completed a security and military operation in the Rif Dimashq region, resulting in the dismantling and neutralization of more than 100 landmines. This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by competent authorities to clear areas of unexploded ordnance and war remnants, aiming to ensure the safety of civilians and secure areas that were previously the site of military operations.

The removal of landmines and war remnants remains a critical field priority in Rif Dimashq. Engineering teams are undertaking these interventions to mitigate the dangers these objects pose to the lives of local residents. Furthermore, these efforts are intended to clear the way for a return to normal life and facilitate the movement of people in newly secured areas.

The Engineering Administration continues to conduct field surveys across various locations throughout Rif Dimashq. This technical endeavor focuses on surveying land, identifying the locations of mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) left behind during the years of conflict, and handling them safely in accordance with the protocols established by the Syrian Armed Forces.

These activities are part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening security and stability in Syrian governorates that have undergone clearing operations. The relevant authorities are placing significant emphasis on eliminating these hazards, which often impede reconstruction efforts or the development of agricultural and service-related projects in areas damaged during the period of conflict.
