New Industrial Zone Project Launched in Raqqa Province

Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Mohammad Anjarini, has announced the formal launch of an industrial and craft zone project in Raqqa province. The new development is slated for construction at the ‘Sahlat al-Banat’ site, representing a key government initiative to organize the local industrial sector and establish a dedicated environment for productive activities.

According to an official statement issued by the Minister via the platform ‘X’, the zone will span an area ranging from 70 to 150 hectares. The site is strategically located approximately 4 kilometers from the city of Raqqa. Plans for the facility include the construction of 2,500 to 4,000 industrial units, which are intended to provide essential, organized infrastructure for craftsmen and industrialists, ensuring the availability of all services necessary for the continuity and growth of local production operations.

Minister Anjarini highlighted the significant economic and development potential of the project. He noted that the initiative aims to stimulate local industry, expand investment opportunities within Raqqa, and generate new employment opportunities. By improving the economic conditions of the region, the project is expected to enhance Raqqa’s overall contribution to the national economy.

This development follows the signing of an official agreement last Thursday. The contract was finalized between the Raqqa Governorate and the Syrian Investment Agency on one side, and the Turkish entities Kayan Trading Holding and MYB on the other. The signing took place during the economic events held alongside the 63rd Damascus International Fair. This move underscores the government’s commitment to executing industrial infrastructure projects across Syrian provinces to foster economic growth.
