Naseeb Border Crossing Resumes Passenger and Commercial Traffic

The Syrian General Authority for Borders and Customs has officially announced the resumption of normal passenger and commercial movement through the Naseeb border crossing with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, effective Wednesday morning.

Mazen Alloush, Director of the Department of Relations and International Cooperation at the Authority, confirmed the reopening in an official statement. The decision marks the end of a temporary closure that was implemented by the Authority on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in response to the prevailing conditions and field developments occurring in the Daraa Governorate.

Despite the closure order issued on Tuesday, Alloush explained that the Authority took exceptional measures to ensure that specific categories of travelers were still able to cross. This included buses carrying pilgrims returning to the country after performing Umrah, as well as individuals requiring transit for urgent medical or humanitarian reasons.

Alloush emphasized that the staff stationed at the border crossing maintained 24-hour operations throughout the closure period to ensure these cases were handled efficiently. He noted that during this time, the facility successfully processed more than 1,600 returning pilgrims, facilitating their smooth and orderly entry into the country.

The Naseeb border crossing serves as a vital artery for trade and travel between Syria and Jordan. Authorities stated that the return to normal operations is part of ongoing coordination efforts to ensure the continuity of cross-border activities while monitoring security developments in the surrounding areas to safeguard travelers and maintain operational efficiency.
