Ministry of Awqaf Conducts Hajj Lottery for 1448 AH in Deir ez-Zor

The Syrian Ministry of Awqaf held the official Hajj lottery for the 1448 AH (2027 AD) season at Al-Furat University in Deir ez-Zor. This process determines the successful applicants permitted to perform the Hajj pilgrimage for the upcoming year.

According to ministry data, a total of 71,257 citizens submitted applications for the lottery. To ensure a structured selection process and an equitable distribution of spots, the ministry implemented a system that categorized all applicants into three distinct age groups. This method is part of the ministry’s ongoing preparations for the Hajj season, with the department providing direct oversight of all registration and sorting stages to maintain procedural transparency.

The event at Al-Furat University was attended by official representatives, who reviewed the total number of applicants and the mechanisms utilized by the ministry to finalize the selection of accepted names. The choice of the university’s amphitheater as the venue for the draw is intended to reinforce the presence of official and public services within the province.

This annual procedure is a routine administrative step conducted by the ministry to facilitate the travel of Syrian pilgrims to the holy sites, strictly adhering to the regulations and standards established by the relevant authorities.
