KSrelief to Establish “Umm Al-Bashair” Complex in Idlib
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a joint executive program with a civil society organization to construct and equip the “Umm Al-Bashair” complex in the city of Saraqib, located in the Idlib Governorate. The initiative aims to provide essential services to the local population, with projections indicating that more than 100,000 citizens will benefit from the facility’s various utilities.
The program was signed in the presence of Ahmed bin Ali Al-Beez, Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs at KSrelief. According to the center, the project includes the establishment of a fully integrated healthcare center, supported by auxiliary community facilities designed to ensure the delivery of necessary care to residents in the region.
Regarding the scope of healthcare services, the center detailed that the medical facility will feature dedicated departments for daily clinical examinations, dialysis services, and reproductive health. Furthermore, a modern laboratory for medical analysis will be integrated into the complex to bridge gaps in the local health sector and provide primary care to the citizens of Saraqib.
A key feature of the project is its emphasis on the long-term sustainability of health and social services. The development plan includes the creation of commercial shops, the proceeds of which will be allocated to cover the complex’s operational costs. This model is intended to ensure the continuous provision of medical and social services over the long term without interruption. Beyond its medical functions, the complex will house a social facility dedicated to serving local families, aiming to foster community cohesion and provide an integrated service environment.
This project represents a significant portion of the relief efforts conducted by KSrelief within Syria. Data released by the center indicates that the total number of projects either completed or currently underway in the country has reached 533, with a total investment of approximately 589.06 million US dollars.
These projects encompass a wide range of vital sectors that directly impact the daily lives of citizens, including food security, agriculture, housing, education, and early recovery. Additionally, the center has invested in water and environmental sanitation projects, which remain critical for improving living conditions across various Syrian regions. These efforts are part of a broader commitment to providing humanitarian support to those affected by crises and ensuring the continuity of essential infrastructure services in areas of Syria requiring urgent humanitarian and developmental intervention.
