King Salman Center Launches Educational Facility Renovation in Syria
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has formalized a new executive program aimed at restoring vital educational and community infrastructure in Syria. The initiative, signed in partnership with a civil society organization, seeks to revitalize public facilities that have faced significant challenges, supporting the ongoing recovery of social services in the country.
The project focuses on comprehensive rehabilitation efforts in the governorates of Homs, Daraa, and Deir ez-Zor. According to official reports, the scope of work includes the full restoration of four schools and three social centers. Beyond structural repairs, the program involves the installation of solar energy systems to ensure sustainable power, as well as the provision of essential furniture and modern equipment necessary to make these facilities operational for students and the local community.
This latest agreement serves as a continuation of the broader “Educational Assets Rehabilitation Program” currently underway in Syria. Under this larger umbrella initiative, efforts are ongoing to reconstruct, equip, and renovate 53 schools across various regions. These projects are designed to facilitate the return of functional educational institutions, thereby addressing the needs of communities that have seen their local infrastructure deteriorate.
The involvement of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s wider humanitarian commitments. By focusing on the restoration of schools and community hubs, the program aims to provide a stable environment that supports the resumption of educational activities and social cohesion in these Syrian provinces.
