Interior Minister Attends UN Crime Prevention Conference in Abu Dhabi
Syrian Interior Minister Mohammad Khaled Al-Rahmoun attended the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice today, Saturday, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The participation comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the international presence of the Syrian Arab Republic.
Minister Al-Rahmoun led a high-level official delegation, which included the Public Prosecutor of the Republic, Counselor Judge Hassan Al-Turba, as well as several officials specializing in criminal justice matters.
The conference, hosted by the UAE capital, is witnessing broad international participation. The event has brought together high-level delegations from UN member states, representatives from various international and regional organizations, and a wide array of experts and specialists in the fields of crime prevention, counter-terrorism, and the development of global criminal justice systems.
Syria’s participation in this forum aligns with the state’s objectives to enhance international cooperation in addressing contemporary security challenges. Key priorities include combating transnational organized crime, dismantling drug trafficking networks, and tackling modern criminal threats that jeopardize societal security.
