Gold Prices Rise Slightly in the Syrian Market

Gold prices in the Syrian market experienced a slight increase today. The General Authority for Precious Metals Management announced a rise in the price per gram by 150 Syrian pounds compared to the rates recorded yesterday, Sunday.
According to the official bulletin issued by the Authority, the price of a gram of 21-karat gold reached 16,300 Syrian pounds for sale, while the purchase price was set at 16,000 Syrian pounds. For 18-karat gold, the price per gram was recorded at 14,000 Syrian pounds for sale, with a purchase price of 13,700 Syrian pounds.
These pricing adjustments occur as the General Authority for Precious Metals Management, established on February 12, 2025, continues its efforts to regulate and develop the gold and precious metals sector. The Authority operates within an institutional framework characterized by financial and administrative independence, aiming to strengthen the role of this sector within the national economy.
The Authority is responsible for overseeing the gold pricing mechanism in the country, working in coordination with jewelers’ associations across various Syrian provinces. This collaborative effort is designed to ensure market stability and regulate buying and selling operations in accordance with established standards.
This price modification is part of the ongoing monitoring conducted by the relevant authorities regarding fluctuations in the local market. The Authority continues its role in supervising the precious metals sector and protecting it from irregularities, as part of the Syrian government’s broader plan to enhance economic oversight and organize vital financial sectors.
