Death Toll Rises to 7 After Airstrikes in Daraa Province

The death toll from airstrikes conducted by the Jordanian Air Force in the southern Syrian province of Daraa has risen to seven, with an additional three individuals reported injured. The developments follow a series of aerial operations carried out this Monday in various parts of the province.
Dr. Khaled Al-Omian, the Director of Health in Daraa, confirmed that the strikes targeted multiple locations, specifically identifying sites in the ‘Al-Taf’ area near the town of Al-Musaymiyah, as well as areas surrounding the towns of Nasib and Al-Muzayrib. Regarding the casualties, Al-Omian stated that those killed include three children, one woman, and three men, one of whom was elderly. The strikes also resulted in injuries to two men and one child.
Following the escalation, the Syrian government expressed significant concern regarding the situation in southern Syria. Officials emphasized that the strikes, which resulted in civilian casualties, were carried out without any prior coordination with the Syrian authorities.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued an official statement noting that it has informed the Jordanian side of its complete reservation regarding the execution of such military operations within Syrian territory without prior coordination. The ministry further indicated that relevant authorities are continuing to monitor the situation, assess the final toll of casualties, and determine the extent of the damage caused by the airstrikes.
Earlier today, the Daraa Health Directorate had initially reported a provisional death toll of five. This figure was subsequently updated following field assessments conducted by the concerned authorities in the affected areas. These developments occur amid ongoing security tensions in the southern border region, with Syrian officials reaffirming their commitment to closely monitoring the field situation and its implications.
