Daraa Civil Registry Launches Electronic Booking System

The General Administration of Civil Affairs, operating under the Syrian Ministry of Interior, has announced the introduction of a new digital booking system for the Civil Registry office located in the Daraa City Council’s Citizen Service Center. The system is scheduled to go live on Sunday, the 16th of the month, marking a significant step toward modernizing the administrative services provided to residents in the region.
According to the announcement, the digital platform is designed to improve the efficiency of official transactions by allowing residents to schedule appointments in advance. By facilitating a more organized flow of visitors, the administration aims to alleviate the challenges caused by overcrowding at the center, which has historically been a point of concern for citizens seeking to complete essential civil documentation.
To access the new service, the General Administration of Civil Affairs has directed citizens to download the official mobile application, which serves as the primary interface for managing appointments. The system allows users to select a specific time for their visit, with the application interface providing immediate confirmation once a booking is successfully registered. This initiative is expected to save time and streamline the process of obtaining civil records, allowing for a more orderly and predictable service environment for both staff and the public.
This rollout in Daraa follows a broader implementation strategy initiated by the Civil Affairs administration earlier this year. As of August 9, a similar electronic booking system was successfully introduced across several other governorates, including Latakia, Homs, Hama, Idlib, and Aleppo. The expansion to Daraa reflects a nationwide effort to standardize digital access to civil services, reduce the reliance on physical queues, and leverage technology to better manage the high volume of daily visitors at provincial registry offices.
Local authorities have emphasized that the shift toward electronic booking is a deliberate attempt to modernize public-facing institutions. As digital transformation continues to be a priority for the government, the integration of these tools into the Civil Registry offices is seen as a key component in enhancing the standard of service delivery across all Syrian provinces. The General Administration of Civil Affairs continues to monitor the performance of the app and the feedback from the initial locations to ensure the system remains reliable and accessible for the population as it scales to new areas.
