Damascus Hosts Republic Championship for Rhythmic Gymnastics

The Al-Jalaa Sports City in Damascus recently hosted the Republic Championship for Rhythmic Gymnastics, drawing a wide field of 80 participants. The competition spanned various age categories, ranging from young sprouts to the senior women’s division.
Youssef Al-Tabbaa, President of the Gymnastics Federation, emphasized the high level of skill displayed during the event. He noted that the championship provided a vital opportunity to observe and evaluate the performance of gymnasts across all age groups. The competitions were held under the supervision of international expert Anna Severina, who presided over the judging panel.
In conjunction with the tournament, the Gymnastics Federation organized a specialized course in judging and coaching, also led by Severina. Participants in this program were integrated into the event’s judging staff, a move designed to empower new personnel and provide them with direct, practical experience in the sports field.
