Aleppo Hosts High-Level Meeting on Return of Displaced Persons

A high-level meeting was held in Aleppo to discuss the role of the province in the work of the Presidential Committee for Integration, with a primary focus on the return of displaced persons to their cities and villages.
The meeting was attended by a broad delegation of senior government officials, including the Governor of Aleppo, Azzam Al-Gharib; the Governor of Al-Hasakah, Noureddine Ahmed; and the Governor of Deir ez-Zor, Brigadier General Ziad Al-Ayash. The event also saw participation from the commander of the Second Corps, Brigadier General Awad Muhammad Al-Jassim, and the Assistant Minister of Defense for the Eastern Region, Siban Hamo.
Representing the committee were Dr. Mustafa Abdi, a member of the Presidential Committee and the People’s Assembly, and Ahmad Al-Hilali, spokesperson for the Presidential Committee for Integration. The meeting was also attended by the Director of Internal Security in Al-Hasakah, Brigadier General Marwan Al-Ali, alongside the deputy governors of Aleppo, members of the executive office, and various representatives from concerned local blocs.
Hosted at the Aleppo Governorate building, the discussions centered on future plans, as well as the administrative, service-related, and security arrangements required to facilitate the return of residents to their home areas in the coming period. Participants emphasized the necessity of joint coordination between all relevant authorities to secure the basic requirements needed to ensure a stable and safe return for citizens. This effort aims directly at strengthening stability in the targeted areas and facilitating the normalization of public life.
At the conclusion of the session, the Governor of Aleppo affirmed the province’s commitment to maintaining full coordination with the relevant authorities. He noted that the objective is to remove obstacles and establish appropriate conditions to ensure the success of the Presidential Committee’s mandate. The Governor emphasized that these initiatives are part of a broader, ongoing government effort to consolidate internal stability and empower displaced residents to return to their homes and communities.
This initiative is part of a series of efforts intended to refine field and administrative arrangements across the provinces. By intensifying institutional work, the government aims to ensure that essential services are provided both prior to and alongside the return of residents, thereby guaranteeing long-term stability in the areas covered by the Presidential Committee’s plans.
