Al-Nahda Residential Project Launched in Idlib with 3,000 Units

The Ministry of Public Works and Housing, in cooperation with the General Housing Establishment and the Idlib Governorate, has officially launched the Al-Nahda residential project in the southern sector of Idlib city. The project was unveiled during a ceremony held at the city’s Cultural Center.

Covering a total area of 340 dunums, the development is designed as an integrated residential complex. The project is expected to accommodate approximately 15,000 residents, with a planned completion timeline of five years.

The launch ceremony was attended by a number of senior Syrian officials, including the Ministers of Public Works and Housing and Administrative Development, the Governor of Idlib, and the Advisor to the President of the Republic for Media Affairs. The event also saw the participation of Emirati businessman Mohamed Alabbar.

Tamam Al-Dabal, Director-General of the General Housing Establishment, stated that the project marks the first economic housing initiative launched by the institution in Idlib following the liberation. He explained that the development will consist of 51 residential towers designed to provide a comprehensive living environment. The complex will feature a wide range of services, including educational, health, commercial, tourism, and religious facilities.

Regarding the financial and structural model of the development, Al-Dabal highlighted the adoption of a “hybrid housing” approach, which utilizes an investment component to subsidize economic housing. The project includes a total of 3,000 apartments, divided into 1,000 investment units and 2,000 economic units. Al-Dabal emphasized that the cost per square meter for finished, turnkey apartments—complete with infrastructure, elevator systems, and solar energy integration—will not exceed 600 USD.

Al-Dabal also outlined a flexible payment system designed to assist citizens. The installment plan will span five years, payable in Syrian Lira through semi-annual and monthly payments. According to the plan, the monthly installment for a 100-square-meter apartment will not exceed 200 USD, while a 130-square-meter apartment will be 260 USD, and a 145-square-meter apartment will be 290 USD.

Qutaiba Al-Khalaf, Deputy Governor of Idlib, noted that the residential district was designed to be fully integrated and independent in terms of its utility and drainage networks. He stated that the project is intended to alleviate pressure on the Idlib city center and address the rising housing demand driven by the return of thousands of displaced families from abroad. He emphasized that the set prices were calculated based on cost, ensuring they remain affordable for citizens.
