Al-Hasakah Governor Appoints Provisional Executive Councils
Al-Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmed has issued a series of administrative decisions to establish provisional local councils and executive offices for several cities and municipalities across the province. This measure is part of ongoing efforts to activate the role of administrative units, enabling them to carry out their assigned service and development tasks more effectively.
The administrative overhaul includes the formation of a provisional executive office for the council of Al-Malikiyah, located in the far northeastern corner of the province. In addition, provisional executive offices have been established for 14 other municipalities: Al-Aliyah al-Sharqiya, Al-Mutanabbi, Al-Ghurayri, Tal al-Jayir, Kashkash Ziyanat, Sheikh Hamad, Zein al-Mabraj, Abu Rasin, Al-Hamra Kishka, Al-Jawadiyah, Al-Muthanna, Burqa, Al-Anadiyah, and Malhat Umm Harmala.
Under these official mandates, the provisional councils are set to begin exercising their functions and authorities in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations. Specifically, the appointments follow the Local Administration Law, as stipulated by Legislative Decree No. 107 of 2011 and its subsequent amendments. These offices will remain operational to manage the affairs of the administrative units and ensure the continuity of essential services for residents until such time that new elections for local councils can be held.
This initiative is intended to strengthen the administrative and institutional presence within these units, aiming to improve local service conditions and address infrastructure and development challenges. Furthermore, it seeks to activate communication channels between the administrative units and the local community to better meet the needs of the population.
These appointments follow similar measures enacted at the end of last week, which saw the establishment of provisional executive offices for the towns of Tal Tamer, Sikar Fuqani, Al-Qayrawan, Khas Janubi, Al-Hol, Abu Hujayrah, Al-Khatuniyah, and Khatuniyah al-Bahra. The primary objective for all these councils is to exercise their legal authority and secure the basic requirements for the residents in their respective areas.
