Al-Furat University Announces Postgraduate Language Test Results
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the Al-Hasakah branch of Al-Furat University released the results of its language proficiency test on Wednesday. The examination, which is a mandatory requirement for students applying to postgraduate master’s degree programs, was conducted yesterday, Tuesday, at the faculty’s headquarters in Al-Hasakah.
In a statement, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Rahma Ahmed, confirmed that the examination committee began the grading process immediately following the conclusion of the test to ensure that results were finalized and released within the scheduled timeframe.
The official statistics revealed varying pass rates across the different categories of language examinations. For general English proficiency, the pass rate was approximately 32 percent, while the pass rate for general French proficiency was 50 percent. Regarding the specialized language tests, the pass rate for English was 50 percent; notably, none of the candidates who sat for the specialized French language examination achieved the required passing grade.
Dr. Ahmed explained the procedures for candidates to access their results, stating that applicants can view the list of successful candidates posted on the faculty’s designated bulletin board. Alternatively, results have been published on the official social media pages of the Faculty of Arts to facilitate easier access for students.
The faculty reported a high level of participation in this round of testing. A total of 383 candidates sat for the general English examination, while six candidates took the specialized English test. For the French language examinations, 12 candidates participated in the general test, and two candidates sat for the specialized French examination.
This examination is part of the ongoing administrative and educational protocols implemented by Al-Furat University. The university previously administered a similar language proficiency test for master’s degree eligibility this past June. These assessments are part of the academic efforts by Syrian institutions to ensure that students pursuing postgraduate studies maintain a high standard of linguistic proficiency.
