Quneitra Telecommunications Staff Receive Emergency Response Training
The Quneitra Telecommunications Directorate has launched a specialized two-day training program for its staff focused on first aid, firefighting techniques, and emergency response management. The initiative, organized by the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate for the Southern Region, aims to enhance the preparedness of administrative and technical personnel in handling workplace and residential crises.
Yasser Al-Nabulsi, a fire safety training specialist at the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate, stated that the curriculum is divided into two distinct phases. During the first day of the course, participants received instruction on the fundamental principles of first aid. The training covered vital response techniques for common emergencies, including managing cases of suffocation, treating insect bites and stings, and providing care for individuals suffering from heatstroke.
The second day of the program shifts toward fire safety and technical prevention measures. Staff are undergoing practical drills on how to respond to residential fires, with a specific focus on the safe handling and containment of gas cylinder fires. Additionally, employees are receiving hands-on training on the proper and effective use of various types of firefighting equipment, ensuring they can operate extinguishers and other safety tools correctly under pressure.
According to Al-Nabulsi, the primary objective of this course is to elevate the readiness of the staff, equipping them with the necessary skills to provide rapid and appropriate responses during emergency situations. By fostering these essential safety competencies, the directorate aims to enhance the protection of lives and government property.
This training event is part of a broader, integrated program being implemented by the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate across the Southern Region. The program seeks to cultivate a culture of public safety and improve preventative skills among employees working across various governmental institutions and departments in the province.
