Traffic Accidents and Fires Reported Across Syria Over 24 Hours

Syria experienced a series of field incidents over the past 24 hours that required immediate intervention from Civil Defense teams. The reports indicate a toll of one fatality and several injuries among civilians resulting from traffic accidents and fires across various regions.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense, their teams responded to nine separate traffic accidents. These incidents resulted in the death of one person and left ten others with varying degrees of injury. Responding personnel provided first aid to the injured before transporting them to hospitals for necessary medical treatment. The teams also worked to clear wreckage from the roads to restore traffic flow.
Authorities have issued repeated calls for drivers to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits, and ensure their vehicles are in proper working order, specifically focusing on the maintenance of brakes and windshield wipers. Officials also emphasized the significant risks associated with using mobile phones while driving.
In addition to traffic incidents, Civil Defense teams responded to 31 fires. These incidents affected diverse locations, including homes, commercial shops, dry vegetation, and trees, as well as fires involving garbage containers and electrical wiring. Two people were injured in these fire-related incidents and received medical attention on-site, while material damage was reported to various properties.
The Civil Defense has issued strong warnings to residents, advising against lighting fires in forested areas or agricultural fields. The organization emphasized the danger of discarding cigarette butts or glass bottles on the roadside, noting that these actions pose a genuine risk of triggering large-scale fires, particularly near crops and green areas. Furthermore, citizens are urged to refrain from using traditional methods to burn dry grass around their homes and to instead utilize safer removal techniques.
This latest field data follows a period of high incident rates; yesterday, reports recorded three deaths and 20 injuries resulting from similar accidents across various Syrian governorates. Officials highlight these statistics to underscore the importance of strictly adhering to safety and prevention standards to reduce the frequency of such incidents.
