Syria Braces for Unsettled Weather and Thundershowers

Syria is set to experience a period of unsettled weather as temperatures begin to dip slightly across the country, though they remain two to three degrees Celsius above the seasonal average, according to the National Meteorological Center.
Forecasts indicate that conditions will be partly cloudy during the day, with low-level cloud cover expected to increase during the afternoon and evening. This shift in weather patterns is expected to bring scattered thundershowers, particularly affecting coastal, central, and desert regions. Meanwhile, some inland areas are expected to experience hazy conditions.
During the night, the weather will turn cooler across most of the country, with relatively cold temperatures in mountainous regions. Authorities have warned of potential fog formation in wide parts of the central region during the late-night and early-morning hours.
Wind patterns are expected to be variable to southeasterly, ranging from light to moderate. However, the southeastern region and the Al-Jazeera area may see active gusts exceeding 50 km/h, which are likely to stir up dust. Winds are expected to shift to a moderate southwesterly direction by the afternoon and evening, while sea conditions will range from light to moderate.
In a significant alert, the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management warned that the country will be affected by a more substantial atmospheric disturbance starting from Tuesday evening and continuing until dawn on Saturday. This system is likely to bring heavy rainfall, strong thunderstorms, and potential hail, accompanied by high-speed downbursts.
The current temperature variations across the provinces highlight the diverse climate conditions, with high and low temperatures recorded as follows: Damascus 27/15°C, Aleppo 26/19°C, Latakia 28/21°C, and Tartus 25/18°C. In the eastern and southern regions, temperatures reached 31/19°C in Deir ez-Zor, 29/20°C in Al-Hasakah, and 24/13°C in Quneitra.
