Health Ministry Announces New Tender for Blood Bank Equipment

The General Establishment for Supply and Procurement has announced a new tender seeking bids to provide specialized medical equipment for the General Establishment for Blood Banks, which operates under the Ministry of Health. This initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize and develop the health sector in Syria. This marks the second time this project has been put out for tender.
This step is intended to strengthen medical infrastructure and ensure that health institutions are equipped with the necessary tools for their operations. The authority has assigned tender reference number 057-A-2026. Interested parties have until the end of the official working day on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, to submit their bids.
The tender requirements stipulate a preliminary deposit of 2,136,080 Syrian pounds, while the final performance bond is set at 10% of the total contract value. The implementation period is fixed at three months, commencing from the date of the work commencement order. Furthermore, bidders are required to maintain their offers for a period of 90 calendar days, starting from the day following the deadline for bid submissions.
According to the authority’s announcement, a specific procedure must be followed for the submission of bids. Applications must be divided into three separate envelopes, containing the supporting documentation, the technical proposal, and the financial proposal. These must be delivered by hand to the offices of the General Establishment for Supply and Procurement in Damascus. The authority emphasized that any bids failing to include proof of the preliminary deposit in the first envelope, or those that do not meet all stipulated requirements, will not be considered.
The tender documents are available for collection at the authority’s office in Damascus. Additionally, the department has provided an option to acquire the documents electronically through payments made via the ‘Cham Cash’ account system. These procedures are part of ongoing efforts by government institutions to streamline procurement processes and improve operational mechanisms to meet the urgent medical requirements of national hospitals and health centers.
