Syria October Weather Forecast: Mild Temperatures and Rain Expected

The National Center for Meteorology and Seismology has released its monthly report detailing weather expectations for Syria throughout October. The report indicates that average temperatures across the country are expected to remain at or slightly below their normal seasonal levels.
According to the center, Syria will experience varying atmospheric conditions throughout the month. The coastal regions and the Al-Hasakah region are identified as the areas most likely to receive rainfall, with total precipitation levels in most parts of the country expected to be near or above the long-term average. The center noted that these projections are based on general probability models and are subject to regular updates through periodic weather bulletins.
For the period ending October 3, the report specifies that temperatures will likely stay one to three degrees below annual averages. While cold snaps are not anticipated, the coastal areas and the northwest region are expected to see higher-than-average rainfall. Precipitation levels in other regions are projected to remain around the seasonal norm as the country experiences a period of atmospheric instability.
Regarding the four-week outlook for October 2026, the center expects temperatures to remain one to two degrees below average during the first week, accompanied by limited atmospheric instability. During the second and third weeks, temperatures are projected to normalize to their general average in most regions, though they may remain slightly lower in the Al-Hasakah area. Rainfall is expected to hold at general seasonal averages, with the exception of parts of Al-Hasakah, which may receive higher-than-average precipitation due to localized atmospheric disturbances.
By the end of the month, specifically during the fourth week (October 25–31), forecasts indicate that temperatures will continue to track below average in most Syrian regions. Rainfall is also expected to remain above average in the Al-Hasakah region, the coast, and the northwest, reflecting a sustained period of atmospheric instability during this final phase of the month.
The National Center for Meteorology and Seismology serves as the official state body responsible for monitoring meteorological elements and issuing warnings regarding extreme weather conditions in Syria. It acts as the official representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
