32 Water and Sewage Projects Launched in Hama Rural Area
As part of a strategic initiative to strengthen infrastructure and secure the requirements for stability in Syrian regions, the first package of the “Syria Without Camps” vision has been officially unveiled. The current phase focuses on the enhancement of essential services across the Hama governorate.
This inaugural package includes the implementation of 32 specialized service projects dedicated to the water and sewage sectors. The initiative aims to rehabilitate and develop infrastructure that has been worn down or damaged in the targeted areas. This step is a key component of a broader strategy through which the Syrian state aims to create the necessary service-related conditions to ensure the safe and sustainable return of residents and displaced persons to their original areas.
According to available data, the completion of these projects is expected to improve service delivery for approximately 275,000 residents in the Hama countryside. The significance of this step lies in its focus on addressing the vital needs of citizens, as the provision of potable water and operational sewage networks is considered a fundamental pillar for restoring normalcy to villages and towns that have faced difficult conditions in recent years.
These activities fall within a series of executive measures intended by the “Syria Without Camps” vision. The initiative seeks to end dependence on camps by rehabilitating local areas and providing the requirements for a dignified life. This approach reflects the commitment of the relevant authorities to foster local stability through direct investment in infrastructure and basic public services across Syrian governorates.
Water and sewage projects are considered a top priority in reconstruction and development operations. Their direct link to public health and the living stability of citizens paves the way for the restoration of demographic stability and the revitalization of economic and social activities in the Hama countryside, as well as other areas earmarked for inclusion in the upcoming phases of the vision.
