Syria Ministry of Higher Education Releases Postgraduate Appeals Results

The Syrian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Monday the results of appeals regarding the postgraduate admission process for the 2025-2026 academic year. This release is part of the Ministry’s ongoing regulatory efforts to ensure the efficiency of educational and research processes across public universities and their affiliated institutions.

Applicants who previously filed appeals against their initial admission results can now view the final outcomes through the Ministry’s official website. The Ministry had previously directed public universities, as well as the Higher Institute for Population Studies and Research, to process these appeals according to established legal procedures, following the initial announcements made in December.

The appeals process covers a wide range of academic programs, including master’s degrees, diplomas, and specialized qualification master’s programs. These programs are distributed across various Syrian governorates, including Damascus, Aleppo, Latakia, Homs, Al-Furat, Hama, and Tartus, in addition to the University of Idlib and the Higher Institute for Population Studies and Research. The admission process encompasses public and parallel education systems, as well as specific programs and vacancies for Arab and foreign students. It is important to note that the faculties of human medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy are excluded from these specific results.

This finalization follows a call issued by the Ministry in April to formally accept appeals regarding the postgraduate admissions for non-medical specialties. The measure aims to uphold the rights of applicants, ensure the accuracy of data processing, and maintain transparency for students pursuing further academic study. These procedures are part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to organize postgraduate studies, improve the quality of scientific research in public universities, and provide clear information for students seeking to further their academic careers.
