Damascus to Host Cement and Concrete Industry Exhibition 2026
The Cement Technologies group, “CemTech,” has officially announced the launch of the “Cement and Concrete Industry Conference and Exhibition in Syria 2026.” The announcement was made during a press conference held on Saturday at the Golden Mazzeh Hotel in the Syrian capital, Damascus. The event is scheduled to take place at the Damascus Fairgrounds from October 15 to 17, 2026.
Gabriel Al-Ashhab, General Manager of the CemTech group, stated that the upcoming edition of the event will feature broad international participation. Nine countries are confirmed to participate: China, Germany, India, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, and Turkey. In addition to the international presence, there will be active participation from local firms representing various Syrian governorates. Al-Ashhab emphasized that the primary objective of the exhibition is to foster technical exchange and leverage international expertise within this vital industrial sector.
Fawaz Ghalyoun, representing one of the event’s sponsoring companies, explained that the exhibition serves as a strategic opportunity to open new horizons for regional and international cooperation. He noted that participating companies are set to showcase the latest advancements in cement industry technology, with a particular focus on environmentally friendly solutions characterized by lower energy consumption. Ghalyoun highlighted that these technologies facilitate future collaboration opportunities, such as the construction of new cement plants or the rehabilitation of existing facilities, which in turn contributes to supporting the national economy.
The conference holds special significance as a key platform for discussing the challenges and investment opportunities within the building materials sector, which is considered a cornerstone of the reconstruction process in Syria. The event arrives at a time of increasing demand for construction materials to drive production and meet the requirements of reconstruction projects across various regions of the country.
It is noteworthy that the previous edition of the conference saw the participation of 40 local, regional, and international companies. This level of turnout reflects the interest of global firms in investing and collaborating within the Syrian construction market. Organizers expressed hope that the 2026 edition will achieve similar success in attracting further partnerships that support Syria’s infrastructure.
