Damascus Sports Medicine Union Hosts Workshop on Complementary Medicine

The Sports Medicine Union is hosting a specialized training course titled “Complementary Medicine” at the Ministry of Youth and Sports headquarters in Damascus. This initiative is part of the union’s ongoing strategic plan for continuous professional development, designed to enhance the skills and expertise of personnel working across various sports sectors in Syria.

Scheduled for September 16 and 17, the two-day course aims to equip participants with the scientific knowledge and practical skills required to stay aligned with the latest international methods in sports therapy and rehabilitation. The training program features a diverse curriculum covering a wide range of modern therapeutic practices. Among the topics to be explored are chiropractic care, dry needling techniques, and medical cupping.

In addition to these specialized techniques, the course curriculum delves into the physiology of muscles and methods for managing common sports-related injuries. It also focuses on the modern standards and protocols currently applied in physical therapy and rehabilitation processes.

This training event offers a valuable opportunity for Syrian sports professionals to gain insight into complementary therapeutic techniques. These methods have increasingly become integral to traditional sports medicine, playing a key role in accelerating recovery times and improving the overall physical performance of athletes. Through these initiatives, the Sports Medicine Union aims to integrate these contemporary approaches into the broader Syrian sports ecosystem, thereby fostering a more comprehensive therapeutic environment for those engaged in sports activities.

By focusing on strengthening the practical expertise of the participants, the workshop intends to yield scientific and practical outcomes that will contribute to the advancement of healthcare and physical conditioning within the local sports community. The organization of such programs underscores the commitment of Syrian sports institutions to keeping pace with specialized developments, ensuring that athletes receive rehabilitation and care that adhere to the latest scientific standards.
