Temperatures Drop Across Syria With Rain and Storms Forecast

Temperatures across most regions in Syria continue to decline, dropping 3 to 6 degrees Celsius below the seasonal average for this time of year. The National Center for Meteorology reports that the country is experiencing a cold autumn climate, generally characterized by partly cloudy to cloudy skies and the anticipation of rainfall varying in intensity.
Forecasters expect periodic heavy rain, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, particularly in coastal and northwestern areas, as well as across large parts of the eastern region and the Jazira. The weather is expected to remain cold during the night, especially in mountainous areas where humidity levels are rising noticeably.
Meteorologists have issued warnings regarding the potential for fog formation during late night and early morning hours. These conditions are expected to affect the central region, the Qalamoun area, parts of the northwest and south, and mountainous terrain, prompting calls for caution during travel. Regarding wind conditions, they are expected to blow from the southeast in the Jazira region, while shifting to a westerly or northwesterly direction in other areas. Wind speeds are forecast to range between light and moderate, with active gusts potentially exceeding 40 km/h in the eastern region and the Jazira. Sea conditions are expected to remain with light wave heights.
