Syrian Postal Establishment Prioritizes Digital Transformation

In celebration of World Post Day, which falls on October 9th, the Syrian Postal Establishment has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing its modernization and development tracks. The institution is placing a particular emphasis on digital transformation, establishing it as a strategic priority to enhance its overall performance.
Imad al-Din Hamad, Director of the Syrian Postal Establishment, stated that the organization is integrating the development of its services and the adoption of rapidly evolving technologies into its core operational plans. These initiatives are designed to broaden the range of services provided to citizens, thereby addressing their changing needs and strengthening the institution’s capacity to play an effective role in supporting the country’s economic and social development.
In a statement marking the occasion, Hamad noted that the organization values its position and role as part of the global postal network. He emphasized that the future of the postal sector in Syria fundamentally depends on the institution’s ability to innovate, modernize, and respond flexibly to the demands of subscribers and citizens amidst the current digital shift.
Hamad stressed that the institution’s strategy is not limited to technical aspects alone, but also underscores the importance of human capital. He identified the employees of the Syrian Postal Establishment as the primary foundation for its success and the true guarantee for improving the quality of services provided, which in turn enhances the visibility of postal services and brings them closer to the public.
Reflecting on a broader vision for the institution’s role in the modern era, the Director explained that its tasks are no longer confined to the traditional concept of transporting mail and parcels. Instead, the mandate has expanded to serve as a vital link that connects people, supports businesses, and facilitates access to various services, thereby opening new horizons for communication and comprehensive development.
World Post Day commemorates the founding of the Universal Postal Union in 1874. It serves as an international occasion to highlight the essential importance of postal services in connecting societies, facilitating the exchange of information and goods, and fostering economic and social ties between nations, all while navigating the challenges posed by ongoing technological progress.
