Syrian Ministry of Local Administration Concludes MÜSİAD Expo 2026

The Syrian Ministry of Local Administration and Environment has concluded its participation in the 21st edition of the MÜSİAD Expo 2026, held at the Istanbul Expo Center in Turkey. The event featured broad international participation, bringing together 369 companies from 70 countries. For the Syrian delegation, the expo served as a platform to showcase investment opportunities within the sectors of local development and infrastructure.
In an official statement, the ministry announced that its primary focus during the event was the introduction of investment prospects for seven industrial zones as an initial phase. The ministry plans to leverage the organized industrial zone model to operationalize facilities in the governorates of Manbij, Idlib, Raqqa, and Daraa. This strategic plan aims to establish a total of 380 industrial zones, with ongoing efforts to remove legislative and legal obstacles that may hinder the attraction of both domestic and foreign investment.
The Syrian pavilion at the expo highlighted various vital projects, spanning sectors such as public transport, digital transformation, and waste management. Additionally, the pavilion showcased early recovery and reconstruction projects, which the ministry considers a priority in the current phase. Through these presentations, the Syrian side sought to attract major manufacturers and global brands to contribute to the development of these sectors.
On the sidelines of the event, the Syrian pavilion hosted a series of official meetings with Turkish officials and dignitaries. Key attendees included Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam, several advisors to the Turkish Presidency, and MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı. The meetings were also attended by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy, Fadi Al-Qasim, and a delegation of members from the Syrian People’s Council.
The MÜSİAD Expo 2026, which commenced on September 23, covers a wide range of fields, including defense industries, machinery, food, agriculture, construction, and energy automation. The exhibition is viewed as a strategic opportunity for exchanging expertise and developing partnerships in the fields of production and manufacturing.
