Syrian Ministry of Health Announces Tender for Blood Typing Reagents
The General Authority for Supply and Procurement has officially announced a second tender for the urgent procurement of blood typing reagents and various medical consumables. The supplies are intended for the Syrian Ministry of Health, specifically for the General Establishment for Blood Banks, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the continuous availability of essential medical materials required for the nation’s blood bank operations.
The tender, officially designated as 052-A-2026, focuses on the procurement of Anti-CDE reagents along with other complementary materials. All items must strictly adhere to the technical specifications and requirements outlined in the official tender documents.
Regarding the financial and administrative framework, the authority has set the initial bid bond at 127,500 Syrian pounds. The final performance bond is established at 10% of the total contract value, which must be remitted within 15 days of the formal award notification. The contract also stipulates a penalty for delays, calculated at one-thousandth of the total material value per day, capped at a maximum of 20% of the overall contract value. The designated period for project execution is two months, starting from the official date of the commencement order.
Interested participants must submit their bids in three separate, sealed envelopes—containing the supporting legal documentation, the technical proposal, and the financial bid—all housed within a single outer envelope addressed to the General Authority for Supply and Procurement. The outer package must clearly indicate the tender number and the deadline date of September 27, 2026. The authority has emphasized that any submission failing to include the receipt for the initial bid bond within the first envelope will be automatically disqualified.
Those interested in participating can acquire the detailed tender documents from the General Authority for Supply and Procurement office in Damascus for a fee of 5,000 Syrian pounds. To facilitate the process, the authority has also provided an electronic payment option via the “Sham Cash” account, allowing applicants to obtain the tender files digitally.
The final deadline for the submission of proposals is set for the end of the official working day on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Bids must be delivered by hand to the authority’s headquarters in Damascus, located in the former General Organization for Free Zones building, opposite the General Authority for Ports and Customs. Once submitted, bidders remain legally bound by their offers for a period of three months, commencing from the day following the expiration of the tender submission period.
