Syrian Ministry of Education to Deploy 31,000 Contract Teachers

The Syrian Ministry of Education has announced that approximately 31,000 teachers, hired under contract across various provinces, are scheduled to begin their professional duties on Sunday, September 13.

In an official statement released via its Telegram channel, the Ministry instructed all newly assigned contract teachers to report to their designated schools as determined by the results of their hiring process. The Ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to official working hours to ensure the seamless operation of the education system and the successful commencement of the new academic year.

The deployment of this significant number of educational staff is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to address teaching vacancies within Syrian schools. These measures are designed to ensure the continuity and regularity of the pedagogical process and build upon initiatives introduced earlier this year.

To facilitate the recruitment process, the Ministry of Education initiated registration procedures on August 10 through its dedicated “Agents” (Al-Wukala) application. This digital platform served as the exclusive channel for candidates to submit their applications, with the Ministry accepting submissions between August 10 and August 27.

Furthermore, as part of its strategy to enhance digital services and streamline administrative follow-up, the Ministry launched an update to the application on September 6. This update enables applicants to receive real-time notifications regarding their admission results and allows them to complete the remaining hiring procedures electronically. The Ministry noted that these technological improvements are intended to simplify administrative requirements for the teachers and ensure they can join their posts promptly as the new academic year begins.
