Syrian Gold Prices Remain Stable

Gold prices in the Syrian market remained stable on Tuesday, maintaining the levels recorded during the previous session on Monday. The announcement, released by the General Authority for Precious Metals, provides updated figures for the domestic trade of precious metals, reflecting the current economic conditions within the country.
According to the official bulletin, the price of a 21-carat gold gram is set at 15,900 Syrian pounds for sale, while the purchase price is established at 15,600 Syrian pounds. This stability in the 21-carat rate, which serves as a primary benchmark for the local market, suggests a period of price consistency following the start of the week.
In addition to the 21-carat standard, the Authority also issued the updated rates for 18-carat gold. The price for an 18-carat gold gram was recorded at 13,700 Syrian pounds for sale, with a corresponding purchase price of 13,400 Syrian pounds. These figures are utilized by local jewelers and market participants to conduct transactions across various provinces in Syria.
The domestic market continues to navigate complex economic pressures, with the pricing of gold often closely monitored by citizens as a store of value. The local pricing structure provided by the General Authority for Precious Metals remains the standard for authorized trade, helping to regulate the sale and purchase of precious metals throughout the country’s governorates.
Global market factors also play a role in the broader context of precious metal valuation. The bulletin from the Authority noted that the price of an ounce of gold on the international market stands at 4,372 dollars. While the international price serves as a reference, local market rates are subject to the specific regulations and economic policies administered by state institutions in Damascus, which manage the official exchange and pricing frameworks for commodities.
The continued publication of these price lists is a routine function of the General Authority for Precious Metals, aimed at providing clarity and transparency for the public and market traders alike. As the economy undergoes various challenges, the tracking of gold prices remains a vital aspect of local financial reporting in Syria, ensuring that both buyers and sellers are aligned with the latest official figures provided by the relevant government authority.
