Israeli Military Incursions Reported in Quneitra Province

The countryside of Quneitra province witnessed military activity by Israeli forces on Thursday, involving field incursions into the villages of Bariqa and Hamidiya. These movements are being cited as part of a series of ongoing violations of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement.

According to field reports, an Israeli military force consisting of several vehicles entered the village of Hamidiya in the northern Quneitra countryside. During the operation, the force raided and searched a number of civilian homes and detained a young man from the village before withdrawing from the area toward their positions.

In a related development, another Israeli military force, comprised of six vehicles, entered the village of Bariqa in the southern Quneitra countryside. The force established a military checkpoint within the village, a move described as part of an escalating field presence in the region.

Regarding artillery strikes, Israeli forces targeted the vicinity of the Mantara Dam in the northern Quneitra countryside with two artillery shells. The shells landed in nearby agricultural land, resulting in no casualties. This incident occurred just one day after similar shelling targeted the area surrounding the village of Samdaniya al-Sharqiya in the same region, where four artillery shells landed in agricultural fields without causing any injuries.

These field developments continue as Israeli forces persist in violating the terms of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. These ongoing breaches include repeated military incursions, the raiding of civilian homes, the intimidation of local residents, land clearing operations, and frequent artillery strikes.

For its part, Syria has reiterated its rejection of these measures, characterizing them as null and void with no legal effect under international law. Damascus has called upon the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and compel Israel to cease its aggression and withdraw from the territories of southern Syria. The Syrian government emphasized that all such practices constitute a flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty and international conventions.
